As Federalna.ba reports, the Blaž Days in Herzegovina have already begun, with a course for the first level of sommelier training held at the Buna Hotel near Mostar, led again this year by Dražan Dennis Šunjić from WSET, who has been involved with wines in various ways for decades. This year, around thirty participants went through the course organized by the Blaž Association and the University of Mostar, gaining basic knowledge about wines, wine drinking, food pairing with wines, and similar topics. The diplomas will be awarded to them on Thursday at the Blaž Enology event, the organizers announced.

"We are very proud of this course and the more than 400 participants who have completed it. We are happy to have enabled people to learn some basics, and we have raised wine culture to a higher level," the organizers emphasize.

The wines that guests will be able to taste at Blaž Enology 2025 have been awarded at numerous wine evaluations, including Decanter in London, the most prestigious wine evaluation in the world.

In addition to the indigenous varieties Žilavka and Blatina, winemakers and wineries that will present and offer their other wines to visitors include: Carska vina Grgo Vasilj, Podrumi Andrija, Vinarija Sivrić, Vinarija Čuvalo, Podrumi Mata, Vinarija Škegro, Vinarija Ostojić, Vinarija Luce, Vinarija Brkić, Vinarija Dodig, Vinarija Dida, Vinarija Knebu, Vinarija Tolj, Emporia Wines, Vino Vranješ, Vinarija Majić, Vinarija Rubis, Vinarija Buntić, Vina Domano, Vinarija Matić, Vino Milas, Vinarija Čitluk, Vinarija Hepok, Podrumi Vukoje, Podrum Vilinka, Vinarija Glinik, Vinarija Puntar, Obiteljski podrum Sušac.

In addition to local wineries, guest wineries from Croatia and Italy will also present their wines, and companies whose food pairs excellently with these wines will present their gastronomic offerings. Visitors to this year's Blaž will also be able to purchase wine at promotional prices.

Guests can also expect gastronomic delicacies prepared by top chefs with the help of students from the hotel and tourism department of the high school in Čitluk, as well as a musical program.

The primary goal of the Blaž Enology Association is to promote Herzegovina as a wine region through the indigenous varieties Blatina and Žilavka. They are more than satisfied with the results after decades of work and existence, and they are recognized far beyond the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This year's Blaž is co-financed by the European Union (EU), and the main sponsors are the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, ProCredit Bank, Mostar Airport, and Elektroprivreda HZ HB, while the sponsors are the Municipality of Čitluk, Sport Center Međugorje, HT Eronet, the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatian Post Mostar, Croatia Insurance, and Wine Hotel Cesarica.
