HERZEGOVINA WINE ROUTE FESTIVAL 2025 OPENS IN MOSTAR

As regional news portal Bljesak.info reports, festival guests will have the opportunity to taste a wide range of wines – from traditional žilavka, blatina and trnjak, to rosé, sparkling wines and atypical wines – and meet the people who create these wines with love. In addition, a rich cultural and gastronomic program has been prepared, including workshops, exhibitions, concerts and culinary spectacles.
"This festival is the crown of a long-standing idea of the Herzegovina Wine Road, inspired by the world's wine regions. We present our žilavka, blatina and trnjak. The year has started excellently, the yields are high, and we hope that it will end that way despite the challenges brought by climate change", said Antonijo Matić from the Matić winery.
The festival is organized by the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH with the support of the Government of the HNC, the Tourist Board of the HNC and the City of Mostar. "This year we have 23 wineries and more and more visitors. We focus on the education of caterers and the development of sommeliership, because this can further raise the quality of the wine offer. The event is growing into a regional one", said Vjekoslav Vuković, Vice President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH.
Radovan Vukoje, president of the Council of the Herzegovina Wine Road and owner of the Vukoje cellar, adds: "This is the culmination of work in the last ten years. Herzegovina is among the oldest wine regions in the region, and through wine we promote other domestic products. Our winery has been operating for 25 years, we are present on three continents and we are the holders of numerous awards, and we also produce olive oil." This year's program also brings the Little School of Žilavka with Josip Andrijanić, the Wine & Art workshop in collaboration with The Hub of Fine Arts and the culinary show of chef Luka Kraljević. The organizers are also announcing many additional surprises.
