As Nezavisne novine reports, the 2020 Imperial Wine (Žilavka from the Imperial Vineyards Ušće) was presented in London on June 9 at the "Ultimate CEE Wine Fair 2025" during a wine icon tasting among 12 selected wines of the Master Class, held by Master of Wine Caroline Gilby.

Great attention at the fair was also drawn by the Malvasia Dubrovačka terroir and Vranac reserve, which are found in more than 50 restaurants with "Michelin" stars in the United Kingdom.

The "Ultimate CEE Wine Fair" is intended exclusively for professionals from the wine industry and is a specialized event for wines from Central and Eastern Europe.

Also, this month the 2020 Imperial Wine was rated the highest among wines from the region by Decanter and Falstaff journalist Darrel Joseph, who, with 95 points awarded to this wine, said the following:

"An exotic bouquet begins with aromas of fennel, anise, and dill, opening into delicate notes of ginger, vanilla extract, rosemary, and lavender. The complexity of the palate reveals a fresh, clean structure with notes of juicy fruits: pear, quince, mandarin, pineapple with a touch of kumquat - and a salty minerality that gives beautiful elegance. As it continues to open in the glass (give it some time!), more tones of ginger, fennel, and peach and pear compote appear along with an elevated mineral-citrus-spicy expression on a long and stretched finish."

The term Imperial Wine refers to its origin from vineyards dating back to the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. At the beginning of the 1900s, wines from Žilavka from this same vineyard (near Ušće, outside Trebinje) were sent to the Habsburg court in Vienna. Today, this masterpiece of the "Vukoje" winery, aged in acacia barrels, is certainly equally royal!", announced "Vukoje" Cellars.

The single-variety distillates of "Vukoje" Cellars, Žilavka grape, Vranac grape, Syrah grape, once again confirmed their continuous quality of work at the IWSC London by winning 93 and 92 points at the world's largest spirit evaluation.

"Vukoje 1982" Cellars have been present on the European, American, and Asian markets for many years, in addition to the domestic market. Vukoje winery is part of our Mostar-Trebinje Wine Tour.
